My name is Essie. I live in coastal Down East Maine. I’m a Medical Assistant, a Photographer and most importantly I’m a Mom to a beautiful, spunky one and a half year old little girl.
Obviously she is my favorite subject.
I love cats, tea, my husband, and chasing my daughter around the house just to hear her deepest belly laugh. I love our family, I love our moments.
Having a toddler of my own has helped me to become a better photographer. She has taught me patience, among many other things.
She has made me a better person, a better artist.
She has taught me the importance of time.
I specialize in family photography. I love working with people. I love taking photographs of people and capturing who they are. I love capturing families in their most raw moments . Through my photography my goal is to depict a moment that words cannot.
An image is time stood still, a moment in time that is expressed infinitely. So often I have wished for the ability to hold onto a moment forever, to take it and bottle it up and keep it for eternity, to feel those raw emotions time and time again. Photography is as close as I’ve gotten so far.
